the magazine

For over 30 years, eternity has been providing the funeral industry with in-depth information and has since long established itself as a traditional brand. With a circulation of over 5,500 copies, the magazine is published six times a year in Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland and is sent to funeral homes, crematoriums, and, since 2025, pet funeral homes.

Emerging from a purely association-based publication, the VDT Journal of the VDT e.V., the magazine has received intensive professional support since its founding in 1995: here, funeral directors can read articles from practice for practice. This is a claim that eternity continues to take very seriously in its 31st year of existence.

Today, eternity sees itself as an independent medium and partner to the entire funeral industry. The presentation of new products and services provides inspiration for everyday working life. Company profiles offer insights behind the scenes. Contributions from fellow funeral directors and thanatopractitioners provide valuable tips for your own institute. And we report in detail on the major trade fairs in the funeral industry.

One of the particular strengths of our editorial team is our excellent contacts in other European countries. Thanks to a well-maintained database and a strong international network — with a particular focus on the Netherlands, Italy, France, Belgium, and the UK — we also have our finger on the pulse in a European context.

With all this, it is important not to lose sight of the bigger picture. In addition to purely technical topics, eternity also reports on industry-relevant news from politics, society, and culture, offering readers information that is enjoyable to read. A real magazine, in other words.

The high level of acceptance among readers and advertisers confirms the success of this concept.
